About the
author
Palakurthy Dinakar is an English teacher at the Government Degree College, Huzurabad, Karimnagar District. He translated more than 100 Telugu poems and 50 short stories into English. His notable works are Poetry to Politics: Tributes to Sri. P.V. Narsimha Rao and Teaching English: Practices, Problems, and Principles.
P.V. Narasimha Rao was born on June 28, 1921, in Telangana, India, and passed away on December 23, 2004, in New Delhi. He was an Indian lawyer, statesman and politician. he was the first Prime Minister from South India. He was a well-known literary figure in Telugu and English literature. He was leader of the Congress (I) Party and the country's prime minister from 1991 to 1996. Rao, who was widely credited for his attempts to liberalise the Indian economy in the early 1990s, received India's highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna, posthumously in 2024.

In his semi-autobiographical novel, The Insider, published in 1998, he talks about complex political issues during his tenure. The story centers around Anand, a young idealist, who wants to bring about political reformation. The story follows the political career of Anand, who grows up to become the prime minister of the country. The novel is set in the fictional state of Afrozabad, which is modelled after Hyderabad, the capital of then-Andhra Pradesh and current-day Telangana. PV Narasimha Rao was, without a doubt, not only a great political leader and economic reformer for the country, but also a great writer.
