The Perspective of Phallocentrism in Arundhati Roy’s God of Small Things . ABSTRACT The present paper scrutinizes the   phallocentric theme portrayed in Roy’s novel God of small things.Many works show a phallocentric view of women portrayed in stereotypical   roles accepting male dominance. Luce Irigaray uses the term Phallocentric in order to draw attention   to the over valuation of male sex organ(phallus) by patriarchy and to indicate continual subversion. Roy in her non linear story, set in the town of Ayemenem,Kerala, raises voice through the Omniscient narrator against patriarchal attitudes and love laws that who should be loved and how and how much.
